Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2025  ·  Dollars & Pence v1.0

The short version: Dollars & Pence stores all your data locally on your device. We collect nothing. We transmit nothing. We have no servers.

1. Who we are

Dollars & Pence is a personal finance tracking application for iOS, developed by Dave Hulmes. The website for this app is dollarsandpence.com. This policy explains how Dollars & Pence handles your information.

2. Data we collect

We collect none of your personal data. Dollars & Pence does not have user accounts, does not require an internet connection, and does not transmit any information to external servers.

The following data is stored only on your device using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults frameworks:

3. Data we do not collect

4. Third-party services

Dollars & Pence does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data services. The app functions entirely without an internet connection.

Apple's standard iOS frameworks (SwiftData, UserDefaults) are used for local storage. Apple's own privacy practices apply to the operating system layer — see apple.com/privacy.

5. Data export and import

Dollars & Pence includes optional data export and import features. When you export data, the resulting file is handled entirely by you — it is saved to your device or shared via iOS's share sheet. We never receive exported files.

6. iCloud and backups

Dollars & Pence data may be included in your device's standard iOS backup (iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup), governed by your own Apple ID and iOS settings. Dollars & Pence does not independently sync to iCloud or any cloud service.

Important: If you delete the app or lose your device without a backup, your data cannot be recovered. We recommend enabling iOS backups.

7. Children's privacy

Dollars & Pence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will update the date at the top and publish the revised version here. Material changes will be communicated through an app update.
